| Opinions of natural black hair | | I have recently transitioned from relaxed to natural and I have noticed that there is a higher number of black women doing the same. For centuries it has been taboo for women of African ancestry to wear their hair without some form of manipulation. Natural hair has become more acceptable, but there is still some resistance. Last summer my boy wanted to put some sun into his hair. I suggested combing some peroxide through it to brighten up his highlights.
Well, the discount store had some highlights on sale and he decided to go that route. He used the entire bottle, and left it on longer than suggested! oh my goodness! I really expected he would have waited for me to help him...but oh no!The result, to me, had his head looking like a dirty Q-Tip. Gross. But he loved it, and was sorry to have to shave it off when school started! | |

| help!!! | | i am having problems with my hair. my hair is wavy, long, waist-length, and very thick. i like its natural black color. the problem is that its sooooooo unruly! it is so sensitive with hair products. since i was a kid, i noticed that it gets dry and stiff with some shampoo brands. another is when i have to attend a wedding and beauticians used hair spray on me, my hair gets split ends and becomes rough and brittle. do you know products, shampoos, conditioners, or any hair products that can help me? | |
