| | diet soda makes us fatter! | | i'm fond of patronizing diet cola than the regular soda we had in our canteen. It's because i'm on a diet. But i happened to "bump" into this article proving that diet soda makes us fatter and more unhealthy! Ok, as if we didn't already know how bad regular soda was for us, and now they're showing us studies that diet soda makes us even fatter than the already bad stuff!The first reason is that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas create a negative hormonal response in the body that increases fat storing hormone production and increases cravings for more sweets and refined carbohydrates in the time period after consuming the diet drink.
The second reason is that people may subconsciously think that because they are drinking a diet soda, that gives them more leeway to eat more of everything else, hence consuming more calories overall.What's now our option? The best alternatives are good old water with lemon or unsweetened iced teas... you have plenty of options with teas - green, white, black, oolong, red... be creative in making your iced teas and you'll enjoy it more. | | Another idiotic product | | What came into the warehouse today... another idiotic product.Baseball caps, not just any baseball caps mind you, $30 "army" baseball caps. Whoever came up with these need to be sent out to the front lines for some testing. The caps are cammaflage as you might expect but the front is white with a big company logo across it. The army would never put something that's essentually a bullseye on their soldiers foreheads. I could see it now, some terrorist scanning the treeline going "green, green, green, White...BLAM, green, green, White...BLAM ". This things must be made for some yuppie who wants to dress redkneck. Just have to have that big brand name company logo as your sneaking through the woods trying to convince some deer your a billboard. Made in "Bangledesh"... | | I'm in a cookie baking mode | | I just baked some sugar cookies and put red sugar crystal things on top. Now I have in chocolate chip cookies that have chocolate chips on them that are green/white and red/white. I think next I might make some of those no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. I'm having a little christmas party with the kids I babysit tomorrow so I'm going to let them have some cookies and send some home with them. Then we have to go to my mom's to exchange gifts because my brother will be going out of town early Saturday morning to go to his girlfriend's families house in New York so I'll take some cookies over there to share. | | | I have a 1991 s 15 jimmy. the ecm is not sending power to ... | | I have a 1991 s 15 jimmy. the ecm is not sending power to the fuel pump relay when the key is turned ON.(green/white wire on relay) therefore not priming the system. on the start cycle, power is going to the pump,(on gray wire out of relay) but the relay is still not energised (green/white wire)and i'm only getting between 7 and 9 volts on the grey wire, which is not enough to start. | |
